When we design corporate experiences in Slovenia, the starting point is never the activity — it is always the objective behind it.
In this case, the client was clear: they wanted something engaging, premium and memorable — but without the structure of a typical team building format. No forced interaction, no artificial competition. What they were really looking for was a way to bring people together naturally.
Designing the Concept
Before proposing any idea, we focused on what the experience needed to achieve:
- Encourage interaction without forcing it
- Create a shared experience with a strong emotional impact
- Reflect quality and exclusivity
- Use the destination in a meaningful way
Rather than designing a “program”, we designed a journey. The idea was simple, yet powerful: participants would explore Slovenia in classic French vintage cars, driving themselves from one region to another, experiencing the landscape in a completely different way.
The cars were not just transportation — they were the centerpiece of the experience.
The Starting Point: Postojna Cave
We began the experience at one of Slovenia’s most iconic locations — Postojna Cave. This gave the program a strong and memorable opening. As participants exited the cave, they were welcomed by a lineup of vintage cars waiting for them. That moment changed everything.
On the Road: Karst to Istria
Participants were divided into small teams and assigned their vehicles. From there, they followed a carefully designed route through the Karst region towards Slovenian Istria.
The experience was intentionally lightly structured:
- Simple navigation guidance
- Suggested stops along the way
- Space to explore at their own pace
This allowed the experience to unfold naturally. Some teams stayed together. Others drifted apart and reconnected later. Conversations happened in the car, at stops, or completely spontaneously.
What We Chose Not to Include
One of the key decisions was what not to include. We avoided tight timing, heavy facilitation and unnecessary complexity. Instead, we focused on flow, atmosphere and freedom within structure. Because that is where real engagement happens.
The Arrival
As the route moved closer to the coast, the environment changed — visually and emotionally. By the time participants reached the final location in Slovenian Istria, the experience had naturally transitioned into a social and celebratory moment. No formal structure was needed — the connection had already happened.
Strategic Insight
This was not a complex program. But it was a well-aligned one. The concept supported the client’s objective. The destination supported the journey. The execution supported the experience. Everything worked together.
Experiences like this are only possible in destinations that offer diversity within short distances. In Slovenia, you can move from underground wonders to countryside roads and into a Mediterranean setting within a single day.
What made this experience successful was not the cars, or the route, or even the locations. It was the fact that participants felt like they were part of something authentic, unforced and shared.
